About the event: This one-of-a-kind festival celebrates the alchemy behind many of our favorite foods and beverages. The vendor halls are packed with producers of these delicacies offering samples of their fermented goods. In addition to discovering new tastes and recipes, there are learning opportunities and demonstrations for those who are interested in fermenting at home. Each year we strive to offer new classes while keeping some of the favorites – we promise there will be something new to learn every year!
About the founder: Jennifer Harris is a self-described bacteria advocate who loves spreading the news that our health truly relies on these beneficial microorganisms. As a fermentation/pickling instructor, Jennifer teaches that there’s much more to fermented foods than German-style sauerkraut. This ancient form of alchemy has been found among the worlds healthiest and longest-living civilizations. Jennifer loves teaching young and old to play with their food and learn to traditionally preserve through fermentation. In addition to teaching classes around Sonoma County, she is also the coordinator of the annual Farm to Fermentation Festival.
