The second annual Farm to Fermentation Festival will be happening on Sunday, August 18th at the Finley Community Center in Santa Rosa. If there’s one thing we love in Sonoma County, it’s fermentation. Be it artisan cheese, bread, wine or beer, Sonoma County stands alone when it comes to locally fermented delicacies.
This festival is one of a kind in Sonoma County. It is a celebration of farm fresh products and the beneficial process of fermentation to preserve them. We offer DIY workshops to learn how to create them. It will be a gathering of the craftsmen and craftswomen involved in fermentation and the people that enjoy and thrive on these products, and it will all happen in a beautiful place where food is respectfully produced.
As a fast-growing culinary craze, fermentation is being discussed around every corner. Sustainably speaking, there’s no wonder why this interest is becoming more popular among mainstream culinarians. The Sonoma County Chefs, backyard farmers and DIY-ers have caught on: fermentation is THE traditional way to preserve foods.
Here is an article of an interview with Farm To Fermentation Festival’s Jennifer Harris, in the Press Democrat- Bite Club.
“Fermentation is a natural process that is happening all around us.”
To improve the overall health of the human population by teaching and encouraging people to make and share their own living, probiotic foods, thereby fostering communities that are “connected through their guts.”
